Pizza
WHERE PIZZA COMES FROM
Pizza is now one of the most common foods on planet. Everyone eats it and everyone enjoys it but where did pizza really come from. Most people believe that since pizza is an Italian food that it comes from Italy. This is actually not true. Pizza derived from the Greek invaders in the first century A. D. and they were the ones who bought it to Southern Italy.
Back in those days, all it took to make a pizza was a round piece of dough and some seasonings, droppings, or gravy etc. Tomatoes are still a vital part of making pizza today. Back in the 16th century, tomatoes weren't used because many people thought they were dangerous. The first Italian-American pizza came from an export of tomatoes from New World to Naples, Italy.
